Adrift Solitarily

   Adrift Solitarily

It’s not hard

to stack

cards

numerically

 (by color

and suit-

ed generic-

ally)

 into patterns

familiar and easily made

(heart, diamond, club, spade).

So much simpler indeed,

hypothetically,

than to choreograph

words

plumb poetically

creating a singular treasure

(something new and unique

beyond measure).

But unseemly, it seems

(and so lame)

this persistent insistence

in playing a game

(… and one more…

and one

and a score and one

almost pathetically

and unapologetically.

(I ought to be ashamed.)

Her Smile - La Lune

photo by PSC - Night Sky on 2012-02-25

Venus glows tonight
beneath waxing crescent moon
basking in her smile

I took the above photo on Feb 25, 2012.
This evening, when I glanced out the window, I saw a similar sight -- which reminded me of this old poem and pic -- hence this posting.

Tonight's sky is even MORE amazing, in that Venus is being joined by Mars.  You can read more about it (if you are so inclined), by visiting this site:

And here's an addendum for 2015:

(Sorry, no updated PSC photo available... as yet.)

Tonight Mars muses

between tremulous Venus
and beaming La Lune
