sweet meditation

birds and spring peepers chirping

as the ferns unfold

PSC/2015  

bare ebony

bare ebony branches

splash graphite against gray clouds.

silver ripples, stipples the sky.

a single blue tear

rips along the seam.

shortening shadows,

lengthening daylight hours,

whisper her secret

 

with each passing day,

in her icicle disguise,

spring tiptoes hither  

 

 

 

Snow Lights

Snow Lights

 

They precluded capture by daylight,    

flying, falling all too fast,

making for a blurry snapshot –

more fog or film –

than photograph.

But kindled by the flash after dark,

against a black backdrop,

they spark

like distant stars

or summer fireflies

lighting up the night.
