Falling Foolish (2016 April PAD - Day 1)
Falling Foolish
Falling in love
is a foolish endeavor
(’though lovers – and others –
might tell you it’s clever;
trust me:
it’s never.)
Falling
is for water –
raindrops and snow.
Tumbling’s for rocks
or a star’s final show;
but never for hearts.
(You & I
ought to know.)
Falling
is something
that’s best left to dreamers –
a calling best suited for sleep.
Love is an action verb
Don’t fall – JUMP in.
(But look
before
you leap.)

Well, it's that time of year again --
Robert Lee Brewer's April PAD (Poem-A-Day) Challenge
