Fire Flies
Frustration flames,
conflagrant conflict
burns a hole in my belly
I step outside
into pitch blackness
seeking escape
Fireflies flicker
on ebony canvas
sparking flights of fancy
This poem was prompted by Poetic Bloomings Prompt #60 – "Burning Passion", current events, and a recent encounter with fireflies. Happy summer solstice!
