14 WORDS for LOVE - 2015: First Love
Above is my 5th entry for "14 WORDS for LOVE - 2015".
(And below is a longer version of the same poem/event:)

First Love
He'd sneak up behind me
on the playground,
steal my stocking cap
and bestow a kiss.
He gifted me a golden ring
from a gumball machine
and a purloined pen
he'd swiped from his sister.
Later, he broke my heart
conflating my name
with another's.
After half a century,
in an old photo
I fail to recognize his face.
He's a stranger to me now,
yet, I still recall his name.
