Poly-Nation
Summer sneaks in
and creepy-crawly, multi-winged,
many-legged creatures abound --
an underappreciated army --
daily risking life and limb. This
frantically pullulating poly-nation
is busily flitting, flying, creeping
out and about, steeping in
stamens,
pollinating pistils, participating
in a feeding, fertilizing frenzy.
Where would
(how could)
we humans
ever be(e,
bat, bird,
beetle, butter-
fly...)
without them?

Wow...I just left a great comment that disappeared into the vortex. Grrr... that's disheartening.
ReplyDeleteWe owe it to those pollinators big-time...you capture a poignant message in both images and words, Pamela. Excellent and timely post.
I saw the first of some wild sweet-pea today on our walk!
Sorry about the lost comment, Hannah. :-( Have had that happen to me, too, and it drives me nuts!! :-/ LOVE those sweet peas -- such hardy little beauties -- always make me smile! Thanks for stopping by, and for the kind words! :-)
