Love Me Knot (2015 APR PAD - Day 7)

He loves me.  He loves me not.”  (– from a game of French origin)
“Hate is not the opposite of love; apathy is.” – Rollo May

Love Me Knot

Apparently paradoxical, but
admittedly a trilogy,
this riddle fully formed.

Magician’s trickery protects, reveals this
three-sided coinage – a puzzle
perpetuated by prestidigitation.

Clearly, only a conjurer could explain
how hate is apt to flip to love,
while love’s flip side is utter indifference.

The above poem is written in response to Robert Lee Brewer’s Poetic Asides APRIL PAD (Poem-A-Day) Challenge for Day 7 (a “Love and/or Anti-Love” poem):  2015-april-pad-challenge-day-7
