Dis(Re)membered
Maybe you don’t recall
but we’ve been here
before.
Separation.
Fragmentation.
Shattered, scattered,
into distinct bits –
shivers, splinters,
slivers,
chips.
The aftermath’s an ache
–
a break – bone deep
and all too real
laden with the hope
that some fractures
must (first) be fully broken
in order to wholly
heal.
