(An ekphrastic poem for: "In Bed The Kiss", by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec)
They’re Window Shades, Mrs. Kravitz!
We’ve seen you peeping
through the blind;
(we’re sure you thought
we wouldn’t mind);
but, we find it dis-concerting,
when we two, discretely
flirting
(in our bedroom, in our
bed)
find you peeking in,
instead!
We’d prefer to be
protected
from your view – quite
uninspected;
so, art lovers, both, we
two
offer this surprise for
you:
Next time that you choose
to peep
(to see if we’re awake or
sleep)
here’s, the scene that
now you’ll see
shading our sweet
privacy:
Lovers – fine, in form
and face,
clasped in intimate
embrace
We don’t mean to be
unkind
(Let’s assume that you
don’t mind)
Love it! :)
