Emotions
He slips
in, this handsome hunter,
perching
silently, waiting patiently.
Worried,
I watch him
contemplate
the tender tidbits
feeding
in my garden, unaware, inattentive.
A while
later, I notice two crows goading,
dogging
him into the distance.
This
time, the hawk leaves hungry.
You sum up well the dichotomy of the food chain for birds and animals.
