Captured

Captured

He’s caught her
pining in the moonlight,
staring at the distant stars

glimpsed her spinning, twirling
with the swirling breeze –
enchanted by a soaring hawk

watched her waltz
beneath the willows,
pirouette among the pines

seen her tarry
at the ocean’s edge
attracted by the tide

she’s beguiled by sunrise
and he knows
what’s on her mind

Every single day,
she’s  enticed
to walk away.

So, what is it
makes her
stay?
