Worm Moon Waxing

 Worm Moon Waxing

Welcome, Worm Moon!
Such a practical name
 -- terrestrial, mundane --
for the harbinger of hyacinths,
trilliums and trout lilies,
sower of wild oats,
bringer of spring,
bellwether of belle weather.
Vernal equinox previsioned,
her vox silent still.
Winter, be gone!
I’m ready to sing
Spring’s song.
