If I Were a Clock

If

I were a clock

I’d run slow-

ly, often arriving

late to the party,

ticking off Time.

Forgetful,

I’d chime in-

termittently, miss-

ing some of those

quarters & halves.

At times, I’d

skip running

altogether &

it’s just possible

(perhaps even likely)

if I were a clock

I’d just

walk.

  1. You know my penchant for line breaks, and I'm SO very fond of the one that created this:
    "I’d chime in"

    Fantastic!

    1. Thanks! LOL Yes, you would. We could be twin mantle clocks... walking... slowly. ;-)
