Baggage

It’s a journey,

(of sorts)

meandering

through gray matter

seeking new spaces,

places you’ve not

seen before.

(Mayhap

you’ve even got

mental images,

picture postcards

that prove

you were

never there.)

It can be

a kind of virtual

time travel

(at times)

allowing you

to revisit old haunts,

relive former lives,

see erstwhile events

with fresh, new eyes;

change the colors,

modify the music,

adjust the light.

Maybe (this time)

  it comes out

alright.
