Refugee Pest
I
don’t mean
to ramble but,
if I were fleeing your
forefathers’ motherland,
if my home were your
home, my children,
your children
would you
open your arms
to me
then?
If I were festooned
in your flag,
cloaked in the colors
of your country –
your company,
your school,
your team,
your cola –
might you, then,
take me
in?
