The Lingo of Love - PAD Day 3

The Lingo of Love

The language of love
isn’t always passionate,
isn’t always pretty
roses and posies;
but when it’s one
(without the other)
Love can turn pretty
ugly
in a heartbeat
words degrading
to desperate deeds.

I love(d) my husband
(wife, daughter, son,
nephew, friend)
but
 (there’s always a but)
he (she) said
(didn’t, wanted, needed)
and sooner or later
in the end
someone winds up hurt
(or missing or dead.)

We can’t ignore or overlook:
I love my job, (my school,
my boss, my teacher, my
neighbor) – the headlines
are littered with these; and
please,
pay particular attention,
when someone says
(with a passion that’s odd)
I love (my) country,
I love (my) god.
