April, she’s
distant,
cool;
and I feel
such a fool
believing that she
was warming up
to me
when only last week
she was sunshiny, bright,
all laughter and light.
Well, today
she’s wholly…
wintry;
Arctic and bitter –
a bone-chilling, shiver-
y mass of crystalline frost.
Still, I'm certain
that all
is not lost;
Yes, I’m sure
that she’ll budge.
This girl can’t hold a grudge;
she’s gentle and kind
at her core.
She’ll thaw in a trice;
just a day – maybe thrice –
several days,
or a week…
mayhap more.

Cute! This made me smile - partly because it snowed here in WI on April Fool's.
ReplyDeleteRight there with you, Patricia! After 60 degrees last week, we're looking at several days of snow this week. (Just took these photos yesterday.) :/
