Inexplicable (2016 April PAD - Day 12)

photo by PSC / 2009

Inexplicable

She
was serious as the grave –
her fancy never tickled,
never blitzed (nor
bombed or pickled);
severe, unsmiling, grim,
not ever (even once)
given to whim.

He
was nutty as a fruitcake –
wholly daft (and only half-baked),
comical, absurd,
feather-brained (or bird-)
pixilated, whimsical,
goofy, giddy, giggly and
completely eyebrow-wiggly.

A ridiculous blind date
set up by friends –
a joke, a gaffe;
but they (yin and yang)
had the last laugh:
so totally contrary
fifty years later,
still happily married.
