Behind her is a winding trail
circuitous route
all but invisible beyond the last bend
no end in sight
(but that may change at any moment)
only a few stones
in her pocket, enough to get her to the
next stop
two steps forward,
three left, one back, spin, pause, repeat
Honestly,
she has no idea where she is going
only imagines
when she arrives, she’ll know it
Oooh this is lovely and meandering and at the finale ... hopeful and calm and centered. Terrific photo as well... Thanks for the share... Just what I needed after a looong busy day :)
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Pearl! Thanks for stopping by for the visit! :-)
DeleteI especially love "spin, pause, repeat," Pamela! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, De! That IS what it feels like sometimes -- no? :-))
DeletePamela, lovely metaphor for life in general! Old saying that if your story doesn't have a happy ending, the story is not yet finished. Loved the internal rhyme and the meandering scheme. Very sweet read! Love, Amy
